Alice Medrich has been called the 'First Lady of Chocolate". Her Berkeley, California, dessert shop, Cocolat, introduced many of the chocolate desserts we delight in today. Alice has been teaching what she loves about dessert making for thirty years. Her contributions have resulted in the country's highest cookbook honors, most recently, Cookbook of the Year, from the International Association of Culinary Professionals for BitterSweet: Recipes and Tales from a Life in Chocolate.
Her newest book is Pure Dessert: True Flavors,Inspiring Flavors, and Simple Recipes.
